Paradive plongées - paradisiaques aux Galápagos

Frequently asked questions

What are the constraints of the National Park?

The rules imposed by the National Park of the Galápagos are very strict, for the well-being of the park, and define precisely the conditions of the visits. Hence there are only 4 boats of 16 people that are allowed to go diving in Darwin & Wolf.

On top of that, all boats have the obligation to include in their program a stop in Santa Cruz to visit the Reproduction Centre.

Why booking so early?

As the number of seats are limited by the number of boats (see above), and the demand is significant, the boats are booked between 12 and 18 months in advance. In June 2012, the period from June 2013 to November 2013 was already fully booked! .Ray during a dive in Galápagos

Why booking with a group?

During the high-season (from June to December), the owners of the boats don't book individual seats (but in "last minute") and they require to charter the whole boat for 16 people. That is precisely the goal of Paradive!.

Some travel agencies book also the full boat, and re-sell the seats individually... but much more expensively than Paradive!

Why such pricing?

When the supply is limited, (see above), the prices remain relatively high, and that is the cases in Galápagos. On top of that, the quality of the services is very high, and the boat is top-class. Luckily, thanks to my privileged contact with the owner of the boat, Paradive is able to propose very attractive prices! Note that In order to keep prices low, the margin is very small, hence no discount will be offered.

What do we eat?

All meals are prepared on-board.

Every meal is buffet-style. For breakfast, there are eggs, sausages or bacon, bread, butter, jam, fruits and yoghourts.

The lunch and dinner include fishes or shrimps, meat or chicken, vegetables, rice, potatoes or pastas, fruits and dessert.

Snacks are available all day (and night) long.

Any special diet shall be specified at the time of registration.

What do we drink?

Mineral water, coke, fruit juices, local beer and spirits are included in the package and available at any time. Chilean wine is sold at 20$/bottle.

What shall I bring with?

Dolphins in paradiseWho are you ?

I am a Swiss guy, 36 years old, and I'm currently backpacking in South-America since the beginning of February 2011. That trip allowed me to discover many places, and in partitular the Galápagos. More info is available on my personal website.

CMAS P** diver since 1991 and amateur under-water cameramen and photographer.

Graduated in engineering in telecommunication and holding an MBA in MOT (Master Of Technology), my last job was director of project management for a high-tech company. So no worries about the organization of the trip! Professional details are available here... by the way, I will be looking for a new challenge from beginning of 2012.

Do you make money with that tour?

Of course, organizing such a trip demands lots of time and energy, so I am making a little profit out of it, that I will re-invest in Paradive. But my margin is not at all the usual one, allowing me to have very competitive price.

Will you share my data?

The newsletter of Paradive is hosted on our servers, and no data, in particular emails, will be shared with anyone else.
